Pianist Malcolm Halliday & violinist Yulia Zhuravleva
No stranger to Southgate, Pianist, Organist and Conductor Malcolm Halliday has performed in both the United States and Europe. Formerly the resident pianist for the American Schubert Institute in Boston as well as Artistic Director of a Worcester Schubertiad, Malcolm also served until his recent retirement as the Minister of Music at the First Congregational Church of Shrewsbury, MA and as the Artistic Director of the Master Singers of Worcester. He now performs frequently in his newly adopted city of San Miguel de Allende, in Guanajuato, Mexico. A native Russian, Ms. Yulia Zhuravleva is a representative of the Russian “passionate” style of violin playing. She has received awards from the All-Russian Chamber Ensemble Competition, Maria Yudina International Competition, and the International Competition in Jyvaskyla. She holds a concertmaster position at the Union Symphony Orchestra in North Carolina and is a member of Roanoke Symphony Orchestra in Virginia.
