The Southgate Welcome Committee recently sponsored an Activities Fair to showcase hobbies and events that are organized by Southgate residents. Representatives of 31 different committees and programs were on-site to tell residents about interesting and engaging activities to participate in at Southgate. Some of our long-time residents dropped by to learn more about activities they had not previously participated in during their time living at Southgate.
Also present at the fair were members of the Southgate Residents’ Council, who are elected by fellow residents, and discussed the Council’s role in the community. Chairs of Council committees (Welcome, Dining, Program, Technology, and Building & Grounds) had their own information tables for residents to learn more about and ask questions.
Other activities on display included Mahjong, book groups, the library, our current events forum, religious studies, breakfast programs, arts and crafts, gardening, and the Bargain Box thrift store.
Thank you to everyone who made their way out to the Activities Fair this year – we hope you found a new hobby to try or a club to join!
