Dan Gabel & the Abletones present “The Vaughn Monroe Show”
Our friend Dan Gabel has become the Musical Director of The Vaughn Monroe Orchestra and brings to Southgate the premiere performance of a unique show that will transport us to October 1949! We’ll hear the original hits of New Eng- land’s own Vaughn Monroe, including Racing with the Moon, There, I’ve Said It Again, and Ghost Riders in the Sky. The Moon Maids vocalists, dancers, a comedian, and skits complete the tribute to a simpler time.

In this course, we’ll focus on five moments in his- tory including: Women’s Suffrage; the 1876 Centennial; the Chinese Exclusion Act; the Wilming- ton coup and massacre; the Bonus Army March; and the American Indian Movement and Native American Rights. This course is taught by Benjamin Railton – a Professor of English and American Studies at Fitchburg State University. ALL WISE classes held at the Southgate site are free of charge to Southgate Residents.
