The seeds of SloGrass were sewn in the summer of 1989 when Dave, Mark and Fran started getting together once a week to play fiddle tunes for fun and in the summer of 1993, Bob officially joined the band on the standup bass. SloGrass plays a mix of vocal and instrumental songs, drawing on various traditions including Bluegrass, Jazz, Folk, World Music and a few originals. We welcome SloGrass to our summer concert series!

Coming to us from the Big Apple with a taste of some of the twentieth century’s most important musical movements, Hit the Roof Band reinvigorates old songs with a new twist. The duet of keyboardist and drummer start off with a bit of ragtime-stride, and then on into the era of swing and boogie-woogie. They then embark on rock n ‘ roll frenzy, all the while explaining the history and icons behind the movement. Continuing the performance into the style of New Orleans piano, a style with roots steeped in boogie-woogie, gospel, classical, and funk, the band takes a slower approach to the blues.
