Ed Cotter presents “Women of the World”
At the Southgate Arts Show in April, Resident Ed Cotter exhibited more than 20 enlarged photographs of women from many different parts of the world. Since then, some residents have asked for an opportunity to see them (or to see them again). In response, Ed has prepared a slide show that features women from 13 countries on six continents. Locations range from the plateau of Tibet to a Pacific island in French Polynesia, and from the Americas to Africa. Each of these will be accompanied by pictures that illustrate the context in which the women were photographed.

It is a uniquely human activity, and the sole reason we have an advanced civilization. We use visual images to communicate with one another as a species. Art transcends language, different cultures, time and distance. It keeps us connected to one another. It keeps us human. Join us for a mini history of western civilization through art.
