Valerie Sneade in Concert
“A Salute to the Silver Screen” Valerie has performed to packed houses across the nation … on stages ranging from The Grand Ole Opry to toplevel nightclubs in New York City and Boston. She has been cast in Equity musical theater productions where she shared the stage with Broadway stars … and she has sung with symphony orchestras from Massachusetts to Florida. Valerie’s voice and style have often been compared to the likes of Barbra Streisand, Liza Minnelli and other megawatt stars, but she has a sound and style all her own. In this hats off to Hollywood, Valerie selects some of the greatest songs to ever come out of Tinseltown. Plan to join us!

WISE Program
American History Through Autobiography with Jed Watters. We will explore central issues in American History by reading the autobiographies of important people including Benjamin Franklin, Ulysses S. Grant, Anne Mood, Jimmy Piersall, and Robert McNamara. This course will include considerable reading (at least 50 pages for each class—selected chapters from each book). We will use the class periods to discuss how these participants saw their roles in the historical process. Jed Watters was a history professor at Assumption College and WPI for more than 30 years. He is a retired Naval Officer and analyst at the Naval War College in Newport, Rhode Island. Southgate residents are admitted to the class free of charge. Class will continue in Nov.
