Women’s Circle Breakfast
Our speaker for our November 14 Women’s Circle Breakfast is Molly Pietrantonio, the Volunteer Coordinator for Habitat for Humanity Metro West/ Greater Worcester. Habitat for Humanity is an international, non-governmental, and non-profit organization, which was founded in 1976 by former President Jimmy Carter and his wife, Rosalynn. Habitat addresses the issues of poverty housing all over the world. Homes are built using volunteer labor, and Habitat makes no profit from the sales. Habitat has helped more than four million people construct, rehabilitate, or preserve more than 800,000 homes since its founding, making Habitat the largest not-for-profit in the world. Upon graduation from Assumption College in 2012, Molly went on to participate in an AmeriCorps year of service with Habitat Metro West/ Greater Worcester. After completing her AmeriCorps year, Molly was hired by the same affiliate and has been there ever since. As a Volunteer Coordinator, Molly supports the engagement of all those looking to get involved with Habitat, whether at the building sites, the ReStores, in the affiliate office, or as an intern. Molly also acts as a spokeswoman for the organization by participating in outreach events that include college classroom presentations and gatherings such as our own Women’s Circle Breakfast. Molly has a certificate in Volunteer Management from Habitat for Humanity International and is presenting at a statewide Habitat conference in Atlanta in March.
