WISE Program I “Why the Cold War Wasn’t so Hot”
“Why the Cold War Wasn’t so Hot” with instructor Jed Watters. This course will examine the political and public assumptions that sustained the Cold War from Truman to Reagan and from Stalin to Gorbachev. Topics will include world views; the Khrushchev dilemma; McCarthy to MAD; the strange flight of Barnhadt Rust; and what did we get for our ten trillion? Jed Watters was a history professor at Assumption and WPI for more than 30 years.
