Summer Concert Series! Dan Gabel and the Abletones
Closing out our summer concert season is the fabulous Abletones! Dan and The Abletones have been part of the Southgate family since their inception. This 17-piece band was ‘born’ in 2003 when bandleader Dan Gabel made a pledge to ‘keep alive the sights and sounds of the 20’s, 30’s and 40’s while using new concepts and ideas’. Don’t miss this ‘revamped’ version of the legendary tunes we all loved from the “Sentimental Gentleman of Swing” keeping the classic big band era alive and well in Shrewsbury!

Men’s Breakfast
Ever wonder why there’s a statue of a horse on your front lawn? Or Oriental inspired art work in the cabinets near the card room? Or why it’s call the ‘Flanagan’ Theater? The Men’s Breakfast Club is delighted to host Southgate Board Member Cathy Flanagan this morning to share some background information about Southgate founder Donald Flanagan and how he developed the partnership that is still in place today. Highlights will include the timeline of when each part of the business was formed, why and where and finally how Southgate was his dream fulfilled. All are welcome to join us for the presentation at 9:30 am in the dining room. Come find out why there really is “no place like home” here at Southgate.
